The portions in this sequence appear similar to they weren’t made by hands, but have developed to their nearby form geographically. They might be the result of a mutation in cells, or the result of a chemical or nuclear reaction. Perhaps it’s a virus or bacteria that have grown dramatically out of scale. The Mutation pieces make you look at furniture in a different way. Maybe one day we would be able to grow a piece of furniture like we breed or clone an animal, and manipulate it’s shape like a bonsai tree. Instead of upholstering springs and foam with leather or textile, these pieces are created by carefully composing patterns with cut-offs of foam spheres of various sizes, and applying them onto a structure. In the end the entire piece gets coated, with a durable rubber or tactile velvet-like finish.

Susan C. I m going to assume that Hargreaves, who hails from New Zealand and now lives in Brooklyn, is using the deep-fried aesthetic to point the finger at America, specifically. We sure do like our fried foodstuffs and disposable civilization! The glossy gadgets of customer culture stop glistening when version 2.0 comes around. At the end of the rainbow, there’s not a pot of gold, but rather a pile of depreciation. The iPad, iPod or iPhone that once seemed so new and exciting becomes a burden. You can try to resell it, but you’ll probably just end up paying to recycle it. Might as well deep-fry it and call it art. Bizarre Hotel In Stockholm Arlanda Airport
July 14th, 2012 Susan C. A bizarre, deluxe and relaxed hotel organized on board the decommissioned 747 at the Stockholm Arlanda Airport. Its named as ‘Jumbo Hostel’. This hotel consists of around 25 rooms. Of course the most prestigious of which is at the cockpit. The designers and creators have kept many features of the interiors of the aircraft intact. The accommodations at the Jumbo Hostel consist mostly of dorm rooms (hence the “hostel” part of the name). These shared rooms have two, three or four beds and are, shall we say, cozy. The 3-bed room, for example, is 6 meters by 3 meters (20 x 10 feet). That’s tiny compared to your typical hotel room (though spacious compared to an economy class airplane seat). There are a few private rooms too, with either two twin beds or with a double and a twin. All these rooms are equipped with flat screen TVs and free wireless internet but use shared shower and toilet facilities.
