The simple leaf is one of nature’s greatest creations. The leaf is a complete natural power station that collectively they produce all of the power a great tree needs to grow. This power is produced from sunlight by a procedure called photosynthesis. Lots of leaves can also store food and water for the tree for times of drought. Photographing Leaves. Don’t do it in the midday sun. Bright sunshine will destroy your ability to get good colorful flower shots by washing out the lighter colors like yellows and whites. In fact it will fade all pastel colors. Early morning and evening or on cloudy days are best times. We all enjoy looking and photographing the fall colors that the tree produces by shedding it’s leaves in the autumn all of those beautiful reds and oranges.
