March 20th, 2011 Rida Team BMW Motorrad Italia STK had a very successful 2010 season competing for the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup. Team rider, Ayrton Badovini, claimed the title after just seven races by winning all seven races. He went on to win nine out of 10 — only coming in second at the meaningless final race after being injured in a crash during warm up. Superstock is a support class to the World Superbike Championship (WSBK) with its rounds run at European WSBK rounds. With this success, BMW Motorrad Italia decided, with the support of BMW in Germany, to compete in the 2011 WSBK.
